The programme
  • We leave the port of Kotka behind us and venture into the Finnish forest, considered by many the most majestic in Europe, as far as the city of Helsinki.
  • The tour takes us to Senate Square for some photos with the magnificent Lutheran cathedral in the background and continues to Kaivopuisto park, one of the oldest and best preserved in the city, and to Mannerheimintie, the main street in Helsinki, passing by the famous Art-Déco train station.
  • We stop for some other photos at Temppeliaukion Kirkko, a modern church carved in rock and flooded with natural light thanks to the countless skylights in its dome.
  • We restart our tour along the Mannerheimintie and admire the Parliament building, National Museum, the modern Finlandia Hall designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto and the new opera hall.
  • Last but not least, after passing by the Olympic stadium erected in 1952, we have the chance to see the Sibelius Monument, dedicated to the famous Finnish composer and made up of hundreds of steel tubes forming a gigantic organ that plays when the wind blows.
