An excursion between the Caribbean history and nature not to be missed!

What we will see
  • Stop for photos at Slaney Point - breathtaking view over the “Little Sisters!
  • Guided tour of Tortola’s main museum
  • Stop for photos at the Gene Hill view point
  • Return to Road Town: free time for shopping

What we will do
  • We leave the port behind us and get on an open-top safari bus or a coach to discover the island of Tortola, its natural beauties and its history.
  • After around 25 minutes, we reach the Slaney Point viewpoint where we stop to take a few photos. We find ourselves on the rocky and rugged southern coast: from here, we enjoy breathtaking views over the Caribbean Sea and surrounding islands, the so called ”Little Sisters” which are smaller than Tortola and make up the archipelago of the British Virgin Islands. These almost uninhabited coral islets (Salt, Peter, Norman and Cooper) are famous for having been the refuge of legendary pirates and buccaneers.
  • We get back on our means of transport and, after leaving Slaney Point, we reach Tortola’s main Museum where we enjoy a guided tour to learn more about the island's history and culture.
  • Afterwards, we head to Gene Hill, another viewpoint where we stop for a few photos.
  • From Gene Hill, we move on to Road Town, the island’s capital and the last stop on our tour. Road Town is a typical colonial city and develops around the port with pastel-coloured buildings and plenty of restaurants and shops.
  • Before returning to our ship, we have some free time for a bit of shopping to purchase a few souvenirs or local products.

What you need to know
