THE FLAVOURS AND COLOURS OF SOUTH KOREA
In a nutshell A tour exploring the traditional and artistic culture of South Korea: we will discover the secrets of how to make the famous Makgeolli and visit one of the most picturesque places in Busan.
- Preparation and tasting of the famous Makgeolli
- Visit to the lively Gamcheon Culture Village
- We will learn how to make the famous Makgeolli, South Korea’s traditional rice wine. This sweet drink has a strong flavour and is slightly alcoholic, and was formerly popular amongst the lower social classes but it is now drunk by everyone, especially young people. It has a similar consistency and colour to milk. We will have the chance to try several types of it, including alcohol-free versions.
- After this great experience, we will visit the picturesque Gamcheon Culture Village perched on the hills. Once a slum where Korean War refugees used to live, it was handed over to artists, who revolutionised the maze of alleyways and courtyards, transforming them into colourful houses, vegetable plots and awnings, creating many enchanting corners.
