In a nutshell All the best that Riga has to offer is within reach as we have complete freedom to hop on and off the comfortable coaches that will cover set routes from one area of this irresistibly charming city to another. The perfect way to discover the two sides of the capital of Latvia, old and new Riga: the Riga that has preserved its typical Hanseatic buildings with their Medieval architecture, and the Riga with its Art Nouveau style. We will be charmed by its atmosphere where historic palaces and picturesque views alternate with more modern buildings and younger, livelier areas in an exceptional yet harmonious combination.

The programme
  • The double-decker bus tour of Riga features numerous 'hop-on, hop-off' stops where we can get on and off as we please and choose which of the city’s attractions to visit each time. Coaches on our itinerary pass at regular intervals, with departures every 10-15 minutes, so we can hop back on whenever we want to continue exploring the Latvian capital.
  • While comfortably seated on the coach, we can listen to the audioguide providing interesting information in 10 different languages** on the monuments and sights that we can admire on the way.
  • We can choose from three routes: red (Old Riga), blue (new Riga) and orange (historic Riga), with a total of 27 stops.
  • All three routes provide a good overview of the city from both banks of the river Daugava and explain its development over the centuries, as well as pointing out the architectural contrasts between old and new Riga.
  • The itinerary includes unmissable sights such as: Strelnieku Square; Powder Tower, built in the 14th century and used to store gunpowder; the Cathedral, the most important Medieval building of Lutheran order in the Baltic States, built in 1211 and dedicated to Saint Mary; the Latvian National Theatre; the Latvian National Opera, home to the National Ballet; Vērmanes Garden, which spans 5 hectares and is the oldest public park in the city; several shopping centres including Barona and Stockmann; Riga Castle, which dates back to the 14th century and was built by the Livonian religious order, now the official residence of the President of the Republic of Latvia; the Art Nouveau Museum where we can discover the architectural style that is a feature of many of the city’s buildings; the Latvian National Museum of Art with a large collection of works by Russian artists; the Riga Ghetto and Latvian Holocaust Museum, which opened in 2010; and many other important sights.
