What we will do
- We set off on this exciting half-day excursion surrounded by the Norwegian countryside as we drive across the Nordfjord, the sixth longest fjord in Norway.
- We proceed towards Kjenndalen valley towards the starting point of the trail leading to the glacier.
- Kjenndalen glacier, part of the Jostedalsbreen National Park, is the largest stretch of ice in continental Europe. After a short easy walk, an amazing landscape dominated by deep blue-green hues appears before our eyes.
- We take advantage of this breathtaking landscape to take some evocative photographs.
- Trekking makes us peckish, so we enjoy a well-deserved break at the Kjenndalstova mountain refuge with a cup of steaming coffee or tea accompanied by delicious sweets.
- Our excursion then continues to the much-admired Lovatnet lake where we board a small motor boat. During a wonderful crossing on the turquoise waters, our guide helps us to discover how these unique colours derive from the clay transported by the majestic glacier.
- We conclude our experience by returning to Nordfjordeid by coach.
