The programme
  • Tour Istanbul on foot and by tram, subway and boat to get a taste of Istanbul lifestyle and the best street food in the city.
  • Take the tram to Yeni Camii, otherwise known as the New Mosque, which is “only” 400 years old, and don't miss its ornate interior and rainbow colored Iznik tiles .
  • A couple of minutes later you'll be in the Egyptian Bazaar, “Mısır Çarşısı” in Turkish, an Ottoman market dating back to 1660. This was the last stop on the Silk Road and is now a riot of spices and lokum, Turkish delights. Souvenir?
  • How about an intercontinental journey by subway? At Marmaray station, board the train that travels under the Bosphorus to the Asian side of Istanbul. Here you'll see the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque, the Uskudar market and the Mimar Sinan Carsisi, which was a hammam until the 16th century.
  • You're invited for a snack on the river before returning to Europe by boat.
This is the start of the Istanbul Foodies Tour: from Taksim square to Beyoğlu you can try the street food favored by the local residents.
  • From the sweet “baklava' to 6 varieties of kebab, from stuffed mussels to “Simit”, a Turkish chestnut and corn bagel, and don't miss a glass of rakı, the Turkish national drink.

  • This is one of the most popular excursions so book early.
