Description
Two towns so suggestive but
different, each with its own particular atmosphere: the almost fairytale enchantment of Sintra and the delightful
Queluz, with its palace in rococò style.
What we will see
- Sintra
- Queluz: National Palace
What we will do
- From Lisbon we will head
towards Queluz, famous for its lovely National Palace Rococò, today visited by tourists considered a valuable museum and still used for important receptions. We
will visit the Queluz National Palace, the royal residence known as the
'Portuguese Versailles', a magnificent construction with elegant
lounges and manicured gardens.
- We proceed straight to Sintra, a town where Lord
Byron used to stay in the early nineteenth century: the great poet named it
'magnificent Eden', both for the undisputed charm of the place and
for its mild climate. Enjoy a guided walk and some free time for shopping
before the drive back to Lisbon.
