In a nutshell

HIKING LOS LOBOS ISLAND

The programme

Despite being desert and volcanic, the island of Los Lobos has a large number of habitats: there are over 130 plant species, including the Siempreviva, the Sea Uvilla, and the White Caleton which is very attractive because of its shape and colour, Because of its great ecological diversity the site has been identified as a protected zone, the Parque Natural del Islote de Lobos. It has also been declared a special protection area for birds. We depart the ship by bus and travel to the harbour of Corralejo to board the glass bottom boat on route to Lobos Island. On the island we take the route to the little village of El Puertito and north along the tiny volcanoes towards the lighthouse, here you can enjoy stunning views of Lanzarote and Corralejo and look into the crater. Here we find some shade to take a break to enjoy our picnic, then on to the west and the volcano La Caldera (approx 124m) where you can climb the short distance to the top. At the end of the walk, if the weather conditions will be good, there will be time to take a swim in the sea at the white sandy beach of La Concha, so bring your bathing suit. A must for nature lovers.
